Wings: Bruise and small scab over distal/ventral L Radius/Ulna. Radius feels like has extra flex in it and may be partially fractured. Distal joint of L metacarpus feels offset and like may have been fractured at some point Legs: Large wound over medial L hock and TMT. Muscle a bit dried. Large flap of skin loose over TMT Feet: NSF Body: NSF Feather condition: In blood, flight feathers just starting to unfurl Ectoparasites: Flat flies Radiographic findings: Reduced spacing between L radius/ulna but no specific fx seen. Fx/displacement to L metacarpus af distal joint Initial treatment: Cleaned L leg wound with chlorahex and flushed with sterile saline. Applied manuka and hydrogel, used skin flap to cover as much of wound as possible and then covered entire area with telfa and tegaderm. Sprayed with Adams. Gave 0.46cc meloxicam PO + 0.58cc TMS PO. Placed in ICU with sibling A: Fxs to L metacarpus and L radius. Didn't see a specific fx spot on radius but spacing in reduced and there is extra flex on palpation. Babies had been on ground for at least 24 hours, possible longer and heal quickly. Both fx sites feel like are already partially healed. Concerned for alignment of distal metacarpal fx but may improve as patient grows and bones remodel. Fxs healed enough to not require a wrap. L leg wound large enough that would likely benefit from suturing. Some of surrounding tissue may die off due to amount of trauma to area. Prognosis guarded due to amount of soft tissue wound to leg and multiple fxs in wing. Will likely be old enough to SF within a couple days P: Rx meloxicam SID. Rx TMS BID. Clean leg wound daily and apply manuka/hydrogel then cover with telfa and tega. HF BID wearing camo until full and then drop remainder of food. Collect blood and fecal tomorrow. Vet check for follow up exam tomorrow. Weigh SID. Monitor bruising over L ventral R/U. Monitor displacement of distal L metacarpus.
